Just Saw Hot Tub Time Machine
So I saw Hot Tub Time Machine. Theater was packed, ha. Surprised I was able to get tickets. Anyways it was a great watch; in fact I am seeing it later tonight! One of the best lines from the movie. Craig Robinson is absolutely ridiculous.

Garden State was beautifully depressing. I found it kind of pointless. The trailer was so wonderfully put together that it built it up too much. The movie suffers from a really cliche ending, and overall, is nothing too different than anything i've ever seen before. The soundtrack is drenched with indie rock, which worked really well for certain scenes and really terribly for others. really terribly.
I hope the same thing doesn't happen with I heart Huckabees. Which I got to view the trailer for on the big screen, and it was cool. I also saw a trailer for a new Paul Giametti movie, that was directed by the guy who did Election, and which also has the dude from Wings in it. That looks kind of neat. And John Waters has a new movie about sex that has johnny knoxville in it. his name is ray ray. spoon out my eyeballs with a...spoon.

I thought I was going to hate I, Robot
(see: repeated "aw hell naw!"s from Will Smith), but it wasn't bad at all. Someone really ought to post something, especially since I know certain members of this community spend entire days at Belltower.

what's good that is out in theaters now?
BY the way if anyone has not seen 28 Days Later, I highly recommend it. They closed down entire parts of London while the shots on the street were shot. That's like closing NYC.. just something to think about.

We rarely use this community, since it seems none of us have much to talk about. Why don't we change that? We could each try to make recommendations on films, not the main stream things or classics that everyone knows about; we could tell each other about obscure/crappy/fun films from any genre.
Hell, I will get the ball rolling. I don't think "Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon (1985)" is to obscure but it is craptastic fun. It falls into martial arts/music video/comedy movie category.

I suppose most of you've sense enough not to go see The Day After Tomorrow, but just in case.
The most laughably terrible movie I've seen since You Got Served. The whole thing was a disaster, no pun intended. I can't even begin to count the number of completely ridiculous and unnecessary plot twists. I mean, I laughed through a lot of it, just. I don't think Emmerich intended for me to. Effects were key, though. Blah blah blah Current Mood: booooooooooooooooooored

if i may suggest a movie to see, see the movie "Europa Europa" its a very good world war 2 film. its entirely in german and russian i beleive. its a true story about a jewish kid escaping the camps and what not. very good.
another movie that you may want to go out and see is dawn of the dead. i saw the sneak preview on USA on monday. i liked what i saw. but dont go into thinking it is a remake of the original dawn of the dead by romero. the zombies are a lot like the 28 days later zombies. in the new dawn of the dead it takes like seconds for them to come back and they haul ass to top it off.

pASSions of the christ
that movie was cool i guess. especially since i got to see it for free with this kid i know because he is a church goer. but it was way over the top. even if this crucifixion business did happen there aint no fuckin way a dude can carry a massive wooden cross while his rib bones are showing.
there was a cool part though. this one other guy getting crucified was being a dick to jesus so this bird lands on the cross hes hanging from and pecks his fucking eye out and fucks up his face. i thought it was cool.

Darkman is such a cool movie.
I imagine that the sequel was kind of lame though but that is just an assumption.

so last night i rented, by reccomendation of John Maass, Spellbound. Its a documentary about the National Spelling Bee and it shows the parents and the kids and their family. It sounds really dumb, but it is extrememly amusing. its almost like a mockumentary. let me know what you think.
